Description

This class is cool, like crazy cool!  “Payouts” are one of the most noteworthy features of Wealthy and Rad. Students actually make money from doing assignments and reading books. Because you, as the mentor, will be doing regular payouts, the recommended minimum cost for each student is about $135 per semester but this amount can be adjusted as the mentor sees fit. This money is critical for future assignments and will allow students to open checking and savings accounts, purchase thrifty outfits, buy and prepare a meal for their family, and participate in other activities such as the “Double Your Money” assignment. Students will also be investing in their education, health and long-term investment accounts. This class is going to expose your older Students (designed for ages 14-18) to views of money that will change the way they think and act. They will apply for jobs, “buy” cars, “buy” houses and investigate colleges and trades. One of the highlights is watching students find joy in being able to help others financially.

This curriculum takes a non-denominational approach which encourages tithing and/or donations as a way to give back.

Students will read seven powerful books that best support the purpose of this class – to be financially self-sufficient and to GIVE! The books are truly inspiring!

Wealthy and Rad was designed to lay out money matters in a practical and engaging manner. Lecture topics, activities, book discussions, and homework assignments are arranged to introduce and reinforce the concepts they will be focusing on in class. There are a total of 32 lessons. Semesters can easily be shuffled to align with your school’s schedule.

Associated presentations have been created to assist each mentor in their preparations. These presentations are set up to support the primary curriculum with statistics, engaging videos, and other pertinent information. They will teach concepts such as sales tax and budgeting, have links to external sites (compound interest calculators), and many other links and information. There are 23 presentations that are directly linked to each mentor taught lesson by lesson number. (Lessons designed for a guest speaker, a field trip or a large project debrief will not have an associated presentation.) If you are tight on time, worried about your knowledge of the subject matter, or just want to simplify the preparation for your class, you will find these slides to be a great and worthy asset.

We hope you enjoy the lively pace and fun student engagement of this fabulous course. You will see the fire of opportunity light up your student’s eyes as they learn the key principles and take the actions necessary to become Wealthy and Rad! Each copy is licensed for one user only. Each student will need a Wealthy and Rad Student Packet. This is a digital PDF product.

This is what I want every child of mine to participate in! As I watched one lesson in particular, the financial ideas being taught were presented in a way that was clear, concise, and powerful. As an adult I was able to understand it like I never had before. It is a hands on curriculum in every way. The students were attentive and engaged. This is a class I would consider as foundational for any teen. This curriculum leaves them with applicable, relevant power(knowledge)! I can not say enough good about this curriculum.

I loved this class! My teenage daughter took this class before getting a job and it had been so great to see her manage her real life finances now that she has a job. So very realistic. The student will have more fun when they participate in all of the challenges that are given. It gives them real perspective and real understanding of how money works and how to develop healthy habits and a healthy relationship with money.

We have loved Wealthy and Rad! It’s given my son such a well-rounded, responsible relationship with money. It’s such a fun way to learn life skills. We especially loved the activities of buying and outfit with their own money and making food for the family with just a few dollars! My son learned how to research and buy a car and has put that learning into practice. He just purchased his first car this week! It is a class I am going to make sure each of my children go through before they leave my home. Wealthy and Rad for the win!!!

I definitely recommend using this course. It’s been so beneficial to my son. He says he now feels a lot more confident going out into the world because he understands finances. He loved the hands on activities and challenges. The hands on activities were great and provided real life experiences. I know he’s on a good path now to financial success!

I LOVE THIS COURSE!!! It was so empowering for my teenage son. He was able to develop a healthy relationship with money because of the content here. To be honest, it was great as a parent to read the books and have the conversations with him too. His life skills, responsibility, and confidence have grown tremendously because of everything he learned and practiced in this class.

This is a great class to teach your kids how to adult. They cover everything kids need to know to be successful in life. Things like how to make and keep a budget, how to open a bank account, why it’s important to save and give, what interest is, how to invest, what a credit cards is and credit score, and much more. They receive actually money so they learn in real time how to manage it. It’s a great class and I highly recommend it!

  7. Jessica Munk

This is a great class! The students get a lot of hands on learning. They use actual money to do their homework and learn the real value of each dollar. It was great for them to learn about this in a peer setting and the teachers are way more knowledgeable than I am about investing. My son really gained a commitment to save his money and be careful about what he chooses to spend it on.
